NYC has a once-in-a-lifetime chance to level up Times Square with a world-class gaming and entertainment destination — protecting the world’s economic engine and cultural capital.
The New York State Gaming Commission is currently deciding where to site three new gaming facilities in the New York metro area – the first three such sites in the region’s history.
Times Square is NY’s entertainment capital and the perfect place for a world-class gaming destination.
Times Square was hit hard by the pandemic and has recovered slowly; it needs an economic boost.
When I heard about the gaming proposal for Times Square I got really excited – we need something like this in the area to bring people back, to bring in tourists, to create jobs for my friends and this community, to boost foot traffic and to support the restaurants and other businesses.
Investments in safety, security and transportation will make Times Square safer, less congested and more welcoming to all.
The project will attract new tourists and drive visitors to support nearby hotels, restaurants and retailers throughout Midtown.
JAY-Z’s Roc Nation will help unify the heart of Times Square, working with local organizations and Broadway to bring exciting new concerts and entertainment to the district.
Since the pandemic the neighborhood in Times Square has changed. The security investments are important to the workers and it’s important to the community at large.

We expect all of the gaming proposals to use union labor, but we specifically chose to support SL Green and Caesars because we believe a Times Square casino will have the most and best impact on the city we love.
Our members need housing we can afford in New York City, and this is the only plan that puts a casino in a part of the city where it belongs and won’t take away land that should go to housing.
